NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no connection to a local, Kentucky, or federal government agency. The site and its advertising partners do not offer tools for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or for any other use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Clark County and Kentucky record-access information is provided for general reference. We are neither a private investigative service nor a consumer reporting agency.
1. What This Website Is
Clark County Criminal History is a private reference site independent from government. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve a file, conduct an official check, or submit forms for a visitor.
Its role is to identify the offices that keep Clark County records, including the sheriff, clerk, Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry, and to provide access to outside research tools.
2. Rules for Using This Site
By using the site, you agree not to:
- Use the service in violation of local, Kentucky, or federal law
- Threaten, stalk, or harass another person with information found here
- Apply site content to employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
- Seek unauthorized access to the website or its systems
- Operate scrapers, bots, or similar automated tools against the pages
- Interfere with performance or another visitor's access
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
No one may use information from this site or a linked tool to intimidate, harass, stalk, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate. Registry misuse is especially serious. The Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry cites KRS 525.070 and 525.080 and warns that harassment can be criminal. Registry publication supports lawful safety awareness, not confrontation, vigilantism, or prohibited decision-making.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners do not make the site suitable for an FCRA-regulated decision. You must not use site or linked-tool data to:
- Make an employment decision
- Evaluate a tenant or housing application
- Set insurance terms or assess credit
- Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
- Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose
A person who needs a legally authorized check must use the applicable official Kentucky State Police process or a properly FCRA-compliant provider.
5. No Legal Advice
Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Clark County charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement law affects a specific person. Seek advice from a lawyer licensed in Kentucky.
6. No Warranties
The website and its content are offered "as is." We make no promise that:
- Information will always be complete, accurate, or current
- Access will remain uninterrupted
- Every page will be free from defects or security weaknesses
- A partner search result will be correct or comprehensive
Charges, dispositions, access limits, and expungement status can change after publication. Gaps may remain despite updates. Only the responsible Clark County or Kentucky agency can make an official statement about its record.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Links may lead to court, sheriff, Kentucky agency, legal-aid, or outside search websites. We do not operate those services and are not responsible for their availability, prices, content, or data practices. Their own terms govern once a visitor leaves this site.
8. Intellectual Property
Clark County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative material.
9. Limits on Our Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information supplied here or by a linked service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the website or breach of these conditions, including related legal costs.
11. Governing Law
Kentucky law governs these terms. Any proceeding tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Kentucky. Public access to Kentucky agency records is separately governed by the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these conditions. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted here.
13. Cutting Off Access
Access may be restricted or ended at any time and without advance notice.
14. Severability
If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in force. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.
15. Questions
Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
